With a light at the end of the tunnel, it looks like NASCAR teams are calling a limited number of essential workers back to their shops in order to prepare the cars for a whirl-wind remainder of the season.

Let’s just hope that light at the end of the tunnel isn’t a train. It’s going to be a season like we’ve never experienced. 2 races a week for the Cup Series. Racing in front of empty stands… well that’s not going to be so different anyway.

However, those team members who were complaining about sitting around bored at home during the COVID19 lockdown are sure to be calling Uncle and will surely be calling for a break come November.

I’m glad NASCAR is going to be the first major league sport to emerge from its month and a half long hibernation ready to go and try to get us back to a semblance of normalcy. Our nation has to get back to work and play. It’s not going to be the same for a good while because of social distancing and limited capacity restaurants, but the cure shouldn’t end up being worse than the problem. Until there is a vaccine we must treat COVID 19 seriously however, life must go on.

Thank you, NASCAR for taking the lead in showing America that it is okay to come out of our homes and resume life, as long as it is done responsibly.
